Augsburg (dpa / lby) - A special police unit arrested a man in Augsburg on Thursday morning who had threatened his father with a knife.

After about two hours of deployment, the 33-year-old son gave up and allowed himself to be arrested in his room without resistance, the police said.

During the SEK operation, the police would have cordoned off the house in the Haunstetten district.

This created temporary traffic obstructions.

According to the police, the 33-year-old son had already gotten into an argument the day before in an Augsburg tram with an 18-year-old and hit her against a seat.

He then fought against police officers who took him into custody.

After the attack on his father, the officers transferred the man to psychological care.
