Some time ago, the "Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening and Improving School Aesthetic Education in the New Era" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions") issued by the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council has deepened the design of the school's aesthetic education, which has attracted attention and heated discussions.

  Recently, the Social Survey Center of China Youth Daily and the Questionnaire Network (wenjuan.com) conducted a survey of 1,506 parents of students, showing that 95.0% of the interviewed parents are concerned about the release of the "Opinion".

Promoting school aesthetic education, 62.2% of the parents surveyed are most concerned about how to arrange the curriculum, and 67.9% of the parents surveyed suggested exploring aesthetic education methods suitable for different age groups.

  Among the parents interviewed, 29.9% are from first-tier cities, 48.1% from second-tier cities, 19.8% from third- and fourth-tier cities, and 2.2% from urban or rural areas.

Parents of young children accounted for 13.5%, parents of elementary school students accounted for 56.9%, parents of junior high school students accounted for 22.4%, and others accounted for 7.2%.

An interactive analysis found that parents in second-tier cities are more concerned (96.7%), and parents of elementary school students (96.5%) and parents of junior high school students (95.9%) are more concerned.

  Data shows that for school aesthetic education, the parents interviewed are most concerned about how to arrange the curriculum (62.2%), followed by whether to enter the entrance examination (57.2%) and how to strengthen the teaching staff (55.8%).

Other aspects include: how to carry out good art practice activities (47.9%), how to conduct fair inspection (44.6%), how to cultivate a good aesthetic education atmosphere (33.5%), and how to improve the facilities and equipment of art venues (32.5%).

  "I agree that we should attach importance to children's aesthetic education and should allow them to develop as comprehensively as possible." Lu Bin is more concerned about the evaluation criteria. "Now almost all subjects involved in the high school entrance examination have corresponding cram schools. Now children are learning English, mathematics, and English. I have already had a lot of pressure to study at school. Is it possible to enroll in an art class after entering a higher school?"

  In the survey, 74.9% of the parents of students interviewed believed that the implementation of the "Opinions" could effectively promote the overall development of their children. At the same time, 55.9% of the parents interviewed also admitted frankly that they were worried that aesthetic education would increase their children's academic burden.

  Chu Zhaohui, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Educational Sciences, believes that aesthetic education should be carried out according to students' interests and curriculum standards, while reforming the evaluation system to make evaluations more diverse.

In the survey, 66.8% of the interviewed parents believe that it is necessary to enhance their children's recognition of art classics and traditional culture, and 66.1% of the interviewed parents believe that it is necessary to cultivate their children's artistic expertise.

Others include: cultivating sentiment, enhancing aesthetic ability (58.7%), improving creativity, stimulating innovative vitality (55.3%), loving life, improving quality of life (36.5%), etc.

Zhao Meng feels that the cultivation of artistic literacy is inseparable from teaching resources and atmosphere, so she is very concerned about the development of aesthetic education and the setting of evaluation standards.

"Like when I was going to school in my home town, art is a'luxury' for us. I really hope that children can enjoy a better education and develop comprehensively."

  Zhao Meng felt that to promote aesthetic education, it is more necessary to "teach students in accordance with their aptitude," and the evaluation criteria should be more diversified and scientific.

"For example, there are many types of art. If children are not good at drawing, they can also like seal carving. In addition, the aesthetic education that children in urban and rural areas can access is different, but there are also many features in rural areas that cities do not have. Some places have very good local art, you can consider entering local education courses."

  In the survey, 67.9% of the interviewed parents suggested exploring aesthetic education methods suitable for different age groups, 67.3% of the interviewed parents suggested improving the hardware and software conditions of aesthetic education, and 60.2% of the interviewed parents suggested integrating aesthetic education with other education .
