17 December 2020It is the British BBC, citing the Nigerian authorities, to spread the news of the release of the 344 Nigerian students kidnapped by Boko Haram last week.

According to statements by a spokesman for the governor of the state of Katsina, where the boys were taken, they would all be in good condition and about to go home.

None of the abductees were killed in what appears to be the first such attack in northwestern Nigeria.

"The kidnapped students of Kankara Government Science Secondary School are safe, the Katsina State Government confirmed the news," Bashir Ahmad, personal assistant to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, said on Twitter.
