It is a hectic week in Marseille after the resignation of Michèle Rubirola from the post of mayor of the city.
She wants her first deputy, Benoît Payan to succeed her, following the vote of the next municipal council on Monday, December 21.
The last unknown to maintain an absolute majority in the hemicycle was to obtain the approval of Samia Ghali.

Barring a twist, Benoît Payan will therefore become on Monday, at 42, the youngest mayor of Marseille.
