The Paris laundry workshop, in the 19th arrondissement -

Lessive de Paris

  • Hubert Michaux 44 years old and Victor Cerutti 37 years old created more than a year ago, La Lessive de Paris.

They produce it in the 19th arrondissement.

  • No more plastic, laundry is made of 99.99% natural ingredients and comes in a returnable glass bottle.

Does it wash whiter than white?

In any case, it allows a guaranteed wash without

greenwashing

, assure its creators.

Hubert Michaux, 44, and Victor Cerutti, 37, created La Lessive de Paris more than a year ago.

An eco-responsible product and 100% eco-designed.

And this, in a local approach and reduction of plastic waste.

An idea that sprouted on the shelves of a supermarket.

“One day, I bought a can of laundry and with its organic labels and its green color, I told myself that it was an eco-responsible product.

But when I returned the product, I saw that it was made in Germany.

That is to say, a lot of transport for a container which is also plastic.

And there was no alternative, ”explains Hubert Michaux.

With Victor Cerutti, they commit 50,000 euros each and then decide to create their own Parisian laundry that respects the environment and to open their factory in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, with a slogan: “It's not can.

"

The promise made of a detergent which "does not pollute the waters of Paris"

No more plastic, the laundry is in a returnable glass bottle.

“We take them back directly to you when you order new bottles.

It is therefore a zero waste laundry ”, specifies Hubert Michaux.

And for good reason.

Each year in Paris, more than 20 million plastic laundry cans are thrown away and must be collected, burned or recycled, they remind us.

No more truck transport, laundry is delivered using cargo bikes.

As for its composition, the creators promise only one thing: Naturalness.

“Laundry is made up of 99.99% natural ingredients.

And it will not pollute the waters of Paris, ”says Hubert Michaux.

There are liquid soap, coconut oil, linseed oil, enzymes and alcohol.

On the other hand, there is no allergen or palm oil.

Two scents are available: lavender or white flowers.

This detergent is sold directly on their website at a price of 6.90 euros per liter.

They currently have 40 orders per day.

They hope to move up a gear, in particular by offering other cleaning products and to expand in the future to other cities in France.

Currently, all manufacturing takes place in their factory in eastern Paris.

It has three motorized tubs, a large one of which can produce a ton of laundry.

Bottling is then carried out by hand, "which allows permanent quality control", promise the founders.

Sensitive for several years to products "made in Paris", the Paris town hall has highlighted on its website, La Lessive de Paris.
