France Télévisions will be offering "Nous paysans" next year, a special program scheduled for the dates on which the Agricultural Show should have been held (February 27-March 7), with the ambition of bringing the French closer to those who cultivate , elevate and innovate.

"France Télévisions wants to take advantage of the window usually devoted to the Agricultural Show to provide a look at agriculture in the broad sense, by relying on its exceptional network, with the networks of France 3 in the region and of La 1ère in Outremer, "Yannick Letranchant, director of special operations for information and antennas for the public group, told AFP.

"France Télévisions has a role to play: to promote the agriculture of France, and we want, during these days, to make even more visible its men and women, its terroirs and its stories", he added .

And this via a program which will combine reports, magazines, documentaries, on the various branches of the group and on digital, and which will cover several themes, professions and training to environmental issues (climate, biodiversity, etc.) via innovative processes, Europe, the transmission of farms and the debates around the agriculture of tomorrow.

All the more so, notes France Télévisions, as several issues have become more familiar to the general public due to the health crisis.

"We started from the observation that the first confinement reconciled, if it was necessary, the French with their agriculture: we rediscovered on this occasion the short circuits and the problem of food sovereignty", argues in particular Mr. Letranchant .

The 2021 edition of the Agricultural Show, which was to be held in Paris from February 27 to March 7, was canceled due to the Covid-19 epidemic, a decision taken in October by the organizers, who however want maintain general competition for agricultural products and public debates.
