Cologne (AP) - Former national players Jonas Hector and Kerem Demirbay are back in their team's squad in the Rhine derby of the Bundesliga, but both are initially only replacements.

Hector has been absent from 1. FC Köln since the end of September due to a neck injury, Demirbay tested positive for Corona on December 4 after returning from the Europa League game in Nice.

For the first time, the 17-year-old Florian Wirtz is returning to his old place of work, whose move from Cologne to Leverkusen in January had meanwhile caused displeasure between the two clubs.

After the 1-0 win in Mainz, Cologne coach Markus Gisdol called on the same players except for Sebastian Andersson for Ondrej Duda, who was suspended from yellow and red.

Defender Edmond Tapsoba is given a break at league leaders Leverkusen, and Aleksandar Dragovic starts for him.
