Bergen (dpa / mv) - Four people were injured in a failed overtaking maneuver on the island of Rügen on Wednesday.

As a police spokesman said, a 77-year-old driver between Bergen and Gingst had overtaken two cars and collided with an oncoming car.

After that, his vehicle crashed into one of the cars he was overtaking.

The 77-year-old and the 47-year-old driver of the oncoming car and two 14 and 15-year-old youngsters in their car were injured and were taken to hospitals.

The two cars that had collided head-on had to be recovered by towing services, which at times led to disabilities.
