Bochum (dpa / lnw) - After the violent death of an eight-week-old baby in Herne, the murder trial begins today in front of the Bochum jury.

The 26-year-old father is accused of having injured his son so badly with a massive blow in June that he died as a result of serious internal injuries.

According to the indictment, the German-Lebanese could not cope with the fact that the child cried a lot.

However, the defendant is said to have caused the frequent whimpering himself by breaking several of the baby's ribs a few days earlier.

Because the boy's mother knew about the abuse and is said to have covered her partner for doctors, the prosecution has also indicted her. The 26-year-old German is accused of mistreating those wards. The court has set numerous trial days for the trial until February 2021.
