US President Donald Trump has decided to veto the defense authority laws passed by the Senate and House.

The Defense Authorization Act states that the scale of US forces in Korea is maintained at the current level.

White House spokesman Kayley McConaney said President Trump was disagreeing with the reduction of US troops overseas yesterday (15th local time).

President Trump is insisting on reducing US troops stationed abroad, but he is known to have expressed strong dissatisfaction with Congress' braking action under the Defense Authorization Act.

The Defense Authorization Act contains content that prevents reducing the size of US forces in Korea to less than the current 28,500.
