The
Civil Guard
has discovered a false invoice
sent
to the
ProSeleccions Esportives Catalanes Platform
by the computer scientist
Jaume Cabaní,
allegedly responsible for creating the structure of former president
Carles Puigdemont
in
Waterloo (Belgium)
and "in charge of transforming the money embezzled into cryptocurrencies."
A report from the
Armed Institute
sent to the
Court of Instruction 1 of Barcelona,
assures that the invoice, of 10,594 euros and sent at the end of 2017 to the platform, for the maintenance of five computers, a fixed terminal, the network internal and a server.
This
was declared by employees of the ProSeleccions Platform
before the judge, before whom they appeared as witnesses, ensuring that the terminals referred to in the invoice were old and had not contracted any maintenance service.
Judge
Joaquín Aguirre
has issued a European order against Cabaní considering that it has a relevant role in promoting the use of cryptocurrencies to evade the control of the State to finance the sovereign process.
The Court of Instruction 1 of Barcelona investigates the alleged diversion of public funds to finance the sovereign process and the structure of Puigdemont in Waterloo, and the Civil Guard detained about twenty people on November 28, including David Madí and Xavier Vendrell, former CDC and ERC positions respectively.
They are being investigated for alleged crimes related to corruption and public disorder, within an investigation in a secret room for a year and a half, and which derives the Preliminary Proceedings 111/2016 of alleged diversion of funds from the Diputación de Barcelona.
EUROPEAN ORDER
The Civil Guard is tracking through a
European Investigation Order (OEI)
the support network for Puigdemont that was set up with the collaboration of Cabaní, a computer scientist whom he considers as a "great brain" and "link between the two main pro-independence political forces,
PDeCAT and ERC, "
according to another report in the case.
He notes that he moved to Waterloo at the beginning of 2018 and that he is "in charge of the transformation of embezzled money into cryptocurrencies."
In the report, the Civil Guard says of Cabaní that he "registered as a computer scientist in the Waterloo building where former president Carles Puigdemont resides."
He adds, specifically, that he is "in charge of digital issues, including the transformation of embezzled money into cryptocurrencies."
"The first clue about Jaume Cabaní's participation in the events under investigation was obtained in
Víctor Terradellas
' own audios
and, especially, in the conversation he had with
David Madí,
as it was then that Cabaní was mentioned as the person who he was working in cryptocurrencies, which they defined as a great structuring, great brain and a patriot of crushed stone, "says the Civil Guard.
