Halle (dpa / sa) - In the process of a killing attempt in the Halle prison, the pleadings and possibly the verdict are expected today (8.30 a.m.).

The accused is a 39-year-old man who at the beginning of the year had rammed a pen in the neck of a fellow inmate when he was out in the yard.

The man felt threatened because his fellow prisoner had shaped his hand into a weapon, an appraiser said almost two weeks ago.

She attested that the defendant had an untreated mental illness, paranoid schizophrenia.

The man reported delusions.

The public prosecutor's office accuses the defendant, who comes from Iran, of attempted manslaughter and dangerous physical harm.
