Neumünster (dpa / lno) - The Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Nursing Professions has welcomed the introduction of mandatory, regular corona tests for employees of nursing homes, but sees practical problems with the implementation.

The personnel situation is "currently the decisive bottleneck," said Chamber President Patricia Drube of the German Press Agency.

The facilities are dependent on additional staff for testing.

The facilities would receive nine euros for staff costs for each test.

However, specialist staff must be found under such conditions.

The Nursing Professions Chamber called on institutions to search for personnel on the #pflegereserve Internet platform (https://pflegereserve.de/#/login).

Conversely, nurses who want to carry out tests should register with #pflegereserve.

The prime ministers of the federal states had also decided at the weekend that in regions with an increased incidence, proof of a current negative corona test should become mandatory for home visitors.

"The measures are absolutely correct in the current dynamic of the pandemic," said Drube.

Employees in old people's homes, nursing homes and homes for the disabled should be tested for Corona twice a week.

Tests are also planned for cleaning staff.

Health Minister Heiner Garg (FDP) emphasized on Monday that the material was rich.

The bottleneck is the staff.

Therefore, 10,000 employees are to be trained so that they can also carry out tests.

Residents of homes are only allowed to receive two registered visitors.

Garg justified the fact that visits are allowed at all with the aim of preventing people from dying from loneliness or grief.
