Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The decline in crime in Rhineland-Palatinate during the partial lockdown was not as clear as in the first Corona wedding in spring.
In an interview with the German Press Agency, Interior Minister Roger Lewentz (SPD) named the wider retail trade and fraud in the course of applying for Corona emergency aid as two reasons.
Many criminals would have adjusted to the new situation.
"Currently the crime figures are approaching the previous year's values again, but are still lower than last year," said the minister.
He wants to present exact figures and developments together with the head of the State Criminal Police Office Johannes Kunz in Mainz today.
It is also about violence in partnerships.
No increase was noted from January to September of this year.

During the first Corona lockdown in spring, thefts, burglaries, physical injuries and property damage decreased more significantly than in the current phase of the partial lockdown.
The crime rate in March was almost 19 percent below the previous year's level.
