Regarding the new policy on missile prevention, the government has proposed a cabinet decision that includes the expression that "we will continue to consider strengthening deterrence" regarding the possession of blocking capacity within the other party's territory. Shown and approved at a LDP meeting.

The government plans to make a new policy on missile prevention by the Cabinet this week, and presented the plan at the LDP meeting on the 14th.

In the Cabinet decision, he did not directly mention the possession of the ability to prevent ballistic missiles, etc. even within the opponent's territory, which was called the "enemy base attack capability" required by the LDP, and continued to "strengthen deterrence." There is no deadline for consideration, just the expression "the government will consider it."

On the other hand, the range of the domestically produced ground-to-ship guided missile is greatly extended, and the policy of developing it as a long-range cruise missile "stand-off missile" that can attack from outside the enemy's range is included.

In response, the members of the Diet who attended complained about possession of missile prevention capabilities within the other party's territory, saying, "The security environment is extremely deteriorating, and urgent strengthening is necessary." It was approved that the budgeting that includes the development cost of cruise missiles should be prioritized.

The government will explain this policy at a meeting of the Komeito Party soon, and will build two new Aegis ships called "Aegis system-equipped ships" as an alternative to the new interception missile system "Aegis Ashore". , It is a policy to be decided by the Cabinet.
