Due to construction work in Hamburg-Stellingen, the A7 will be completely closed this weekend.

From Friday evening (10 p.m.) to Monday morning (5 a.m.), drivers have to follow a detour between the Hamburg-Stellingen and Eidelstedt junction.

The north branch of Autobahn GmbH recommends that national traffic bypass the blockade via the A1, A21 and B205.

During the closure, a new traffic management system is to be set up in Stellingen.

After completion of the west tube of the almost 900 meter long noise protection tunnel, it will initially accommodate all traffic, it said.

The east tunnel, which went into operation in April 2019, is to be converted for four-lane traffic to the north by February.

Another full closure of the A7 is planned for the first weekend in February 2021.

Then the final traffic routing through both tubes will be established.

The Stellingen driveway in the direction of Flensburg / Kiel will remain closed until February 8th.

As a matter of principle, Autobahn GmbH recommends switching to the train and bus or avoiding driving to the city center during the closure.

A spokeswoman for Autobahn GmbH warned that there would be traffic jams on the diversion route via Kieler Strasse, despite the two-lane traffic route.

Drivers from the city center and the east of Hamburg can, according to the recommendation, drive via the airport bypass to the Hamburg-Schnelsen-Nord junction.
