"They have been found guilty of large-scale fraud," the statement said.

It is specified that Mikhail Fomin received 12 years in a general regime colony, Maxim Voronkov - 11, Ivan Loshkarev - nine, Igor Bykov and Alexander Ionov - seven each.

Also, all those found guilty will have to pay fines of various sizes.

"In addition, the court fully satisfied the claim of the military department to recover the damage caused from the convicts," the UK added.

Earlier, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced Lieutenant General Pyotr Grishin, former head of the forensic center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, to eight years in prison for embezzlement of 62 million rubles.
