Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - Because of the impending lockdown, the Magdeburg state parliament wants to lift its annual financial statements this year in just one day.

The provisional agenda for the meeting provides for 21 topics, including the corona lockdown and the broadcasting fee.

The MPs want to meet until 9.45 p.m.

Formally, on Tuesday morning, the council of elders still has to approve the schedule on which the parliamentary directors agreed on Monday.

At the beginning, Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) should explain the corona lockdown, which begins on Wednesday, in a government statement.

This should involve parliament in the corona policy, said CDU parliamentary group leader Siegfried Borgwardt.

One and a half hours are allotted for the explanation and the subsequent debate on the corona pandemic.

Immediately afterwards, there is the second big topic of the day, on which the black-red-green government alliance almost broke last week: the increase in the broadcasting fee that initially failed in Saxony-Anhalt.

The state parliament was actually supposed to vote on the new state treaty on public broadcasting on Tuesday.

Haseloff withdrew his legislative proposal last week to prevent the CDU parliamentary group from voting as announced with the AfD and against the coalition partners.

The opposition parties AfD and Linke still put the topic on the agenda in the form of a motion and a current debate.

In addition, the state parliament should finally resolve the long-awaited abolition of the road construction subsidies.

The contributions are to expire retroactively as of January 1st of this year.
