The Hill newspaper writes about this with reference to a letter from a member of the Committee on Oversight and Reforms, James Comer, addressed to FBI Director Christopher Ray.

According to the congressman, elected US officials could be compromised "without knowing it", depending on how many "Chinese Communist Party operatives" are in the US.

“Understanding the scale of the CCP's operation is very important to counter and prevent any future attempts to undermine our state institutions,” Comer said.

In his letter, the American referred to recent reports from Axios that a certain Christina Feng, suspected of working for the Chinese special services, allegedly established contacts with American politicians at various levels, in particular, with Rep. Eric Swallell.

According to media reports, Feng may have gained access to classified information.

"Just last week it became known that a member of the US House of Representatives, who has access to classified information, has established close ties with an undercover Chinese spy," the newspaper Comera quotes.

On his Twitter, he noted that "China's espionage is at the highest level" against the US government, and the authorities need to know what the FBI is doing to fight communist China inside the United States.
