Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The federal and state governments discussed how to proceed in the corona pandemic on Sunday.

From Wednesday on, tightened measures should reduce the high number of corona infections.

These measures will initially apply until January 10th.

An overview of what that means for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

TRADE

Shops for daily needs remain open.

These are supermarkets, drugstores, pharmacies, beverage markets, banks and the post office.

SCHOOLS

Pupils up to the 6th grade can basically continue to come to school.

The compulsory attendance will be lifted from Wednesday.

Then students in the school will be given tasks that their classmates do at home, as a spokesman for the Ministry of Education announced.

Students and teachers must then also wear mouth and nose protection in the classrooms.

It is urged that all students study from home from Wednesday if possible.

In large parts of the state, pupils from the 7th grade onwards should start learning from home via the Internet from Monday.

The Hanseatic city of Rostock and the district of Rostock, which have not yet been classified as a corona risk area due to the lower number of infections, are initially excluded.

Students start the last week of school on Monday before the Christmas holidays, which last until January 3rd.

KITAS

These should always remain open.

But here, too, parents are appealed to, if possible, to look after their children at home.

CHRISTMAS

display

A household in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania should be able to meet up to four other people on Christmas Eve and the two Christmas holidays.

Children up to 14 years are not included.

Possible overnight stays by family members are prohibited in hotels and all other accommodations.

The sale of Christmas trees is still allowed.

NEW YEAR'S EVE AND NEW YEAR'S DAY

Meetings and gatherings are prohibited on these days.

Any sale of fireworks is also prohibited.

On these two days, as on all other days except Christmas, a maximum of five people from two households are allowed to meet.

INSIDE THE STATE

As long as residents adhere to the contact restrictions, they can move freely in the state.

A walk on the Baltic Sea is still possible.

SERVICES

Companies in the personal care sector will be closed, i.e. hairdressers, cosmetic studios, massage practices and tattoo studios.

If there is a medical need, for example, foot care and physiotherapy are still allowed.

Nursing homes

There have been stricter visiting regulations since Saturday.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, residents are currently only allowed to be visited by one specified person per day.

If the national incidence value exceeds 100, visits are then only possible on three days per week;

if the value is 200 or higher, then only one day a week.

More precise regulations for visits to the Christmas holidays are to follow.

Visitors have had to show a negative corona test since Saturday, which must not be older than 72 hours.

There should be the possibility of a quick test on site in the facilities.

Visitors do not have to pay this.

LEISURE

This is largely restricted.

From Wednesday on, zoos and animal parks in the state are no longer allowed to open their outdoor areas.

Children and youth sports are then also prohibited.

The closings of cinemas, theaters and fitness studios that have existed for weeks will remain.

EXIT RESTRICTIONS

Nocturnal curfews are generally possible if a city or region reaches 200 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week.

Thus, depending on the infection, there could also be different regulations within a district.

No district or one of the two independent cities in the state has so far exceeded this value of 200.

MASKING REQUIRED

The mask requirement will be extended to public places and busy streets and applies throughout the state.

The mask requirement, which has existed for months in local transport and retail, remains in place.

ALCOHOL

Alcohol may no longer be served in public.

This is to avoid gatherings of people - as is often the case in front of mulled wine stands.

SO IT WILL CONTINUE

The resolutions of the federal-state consultations must be incorporated into a state corona ordinance.

On Monday, the state government wants to discuss this at a corona summit with representatives of trade unions and municipalities.

A special session of the state parliament is on the agenda on Tuesday.

After that, the final regulation should be ready.
