Augsburg (AP) - Ex-national player Mark Uth from FC Schalke 04 suffered a concussion in a violent collision in the Bundesliga match at FC Augsburg.

This was announced by his club after the 2-2 on Sunday in the Augsburg football arena.

"It was dramatic, we didn't know what was going on," said Sascha Riether, coordinator of the Schalke licensed player department, after the game at Sky.

A few minutes after the whistle after a header duel with FCA defender Felix Uduokhai in midfield, Uth hit the ground with his head on the landing and remained dazed.

The 29-year-old attacker had to be treated on the lawn for minutes.

His neck was stabilized and he was given an infusion.

"That was a really tricky moment," said Riether about the scenery.

Uth's teammates and the Schalke substitute players watched the scenes depressed.

Uth was finally taken to the hospital on a stretcher and accompanied by the team doctor.

He had to stay there overnight, it was said on Sunday evening.

After the scene with Uth, referee Manuel Grafe asked Schalke if they wanted to continue playing.

That was answered in the affirmative.

"The team wanted to continue playing the game for Mark," reported Riether.
