Hamburg (dpa / lno) - In an apartment fire in Hamburg's Kleiner Grasbrook district, the fire brigade brought a mother and child to safety.
The resident of the burning apartment, which was on the third floor of an apartment building, suffered smoke poisoning on Sunday night, a fire department spokesman reported on Sunday morning.
The mother and her child lived in the neighboring apartment.
In the apartment on fire, a mattress had caught fire, as it was said.
The cause was initially unclear.
The emergency services saw the woman with her child on a balcony of the house.
The two were brought to safety with the help of a turntable ladder.
