Hanover (dpa) - The Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) is again relying on online offers for believers in view of the Corona rules at Christmas.

"In addition to the church services, which take place under strict protection concepts, we will reach many millions of people via online formats and television services, as we did at Easter," said an EKD spokeswoman for the German press agency on Sunday.

"The current situation requires a lot of creativity and a spirit of improvisation."

The rules for church services decided by the federal and state governments on Sunday have already been implemented in many places: These include the mask requirement, the singing ban for the congregations and registration lists for the Christmas services.

The talks announced by politicians within and with the

faith communities would take place at the beginning of the week.
