All 14 teams are starting the right season.

With wages waived by the players, financial aid from the federal government and sponsors, special campaigns and short-time work, the clubs were able to plan a season without spectators.

On Thursday the Kölner Haie and the Düsseldorfer EG will play the opening game for an unusual season with a main round reduced to 38 game days and shortened playoffs.
