13 December 2020 "The measures put in place are aimed at preventing a repeat of what happened this summer. The sites are full of centers with unbearable crowds of people, we must be careful, because what happened this summer does not happen again. let us see more photos like those of today: we must all prevent the third wave from taking place. It would be difficult to start the vaccination campaign with a new tightening of the epidemic curve ".

The commissioner for the emergency Domenico Arcuri says this to 'Che tempo che fa' on Rai3.

"The measures put in place so far have been in the sign of common sense and equilibrium, the next ones will be too. For 17 days we have had an increasing containment of the contagion curve but this slowdown is not bombastic, it is sensitive but not yet satisfactory".

In Italy, one in 3 Italians has become infected, he said.

"We all depend on the decisions of the EMA that it plans to release the first vaccine on December 29, we cheer for this to happen and for the second to be authorized on January 12. If this happens, the vaccine will begin to be administered throughout Europe in the same day and realistically this day will be mid-January. Let's cheer for the vaccination campaign to start between 12 and 15 January and a few days before it will be a symbolic day because all the citizens of Europe start getting vaccinated. We will start with 300 administration points, when fully operational they will be 1500 ".

"We have planned to be able to vaccinate all Italians who want it by September, herd immunity is achieved if people are vaccinated as many as possible. Citizens who are in Italy at that time will all have the right to be vaccinated. . The vaccine in Italy will be free and not compulsory ".

"Considering the probability of the third wave, a possibility. I work all day to prevent this from happening but we need all Italians to give us a hand: don't let us see today's photos anymore, the desire, understandable, to return to normal must wait. a little more time; we need the vaccine, let's get there ".

Arcuri has assured that the schools will reopen on January 7 all, with the exception of high school, at 75% in attendance.
