December 12, 2020 "I am worried about the two weeks of Christmas holidays", said Health Minister Roberto Speranza. "If the message passes, free everyone - added the minister - it will go back to a dangerous phase in January and February when we will be in full vaccination campaign ".

Speaking to the Ansa Forum, Speranza specified: "My line is, and remains, that of prudence and I strongly reiterate - he concluded - the need not to frustrate the sacrifices made".

Vaccines: Boccia-Arcuri-Speranza meeting

On the issue of vaccines, meanwhile, it is the Minister for Regional Affairs Francesco Boccia who anticipates a meeting to speed up the initiatives: "This afternoon with Minister Speranza and Commissioner Arcuri we called an operational meeting with all the regions on vaccines because it is important establish the number of first subjects "to be vaccinated.

And according to Speranza "January will be vaccination month and I hope that we can start at the same time throughout Europe", adding that "on 29 Ema will kick off the Pfizer vaccine and from that day Aifa and Italy will be ready to go ".

Leaving together in Europe

"I hope - said the Minister of Health - that everyone in Europe will be chosen on the same day. And this is a proposal that Italy has made".

"Maximum rigor and maximum safety will be needed - added Speranza - the heart of vaccinations will be spring summer, it will be voluntary and safe".

Recovery and health

"The 9 billion of the Recovery Fund foreseen for health are decisive," the Minister of Health told Ansa.

"I will make this proposal - he added - to the Council of Ministers - and I am sure that I will find the attention of the political forces. The challenges of the coming weeks will be decisive for the future of Italy".

Government, tackling the knots

"We must not put the dust under the carpet, but then immediately get to work," said health minister Roberto Speranza about political issues.

Let's face the knots openly - he added - and if there are tensions let's face them in this majority and in the perimeter of this Government.

We certainly must not put aside problems and tensions but then let's focus on three great challenges that await us: the vaccination campaign, the intelligent use of the Recovery Fund and the leadership of the G20 ".
