Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun decided to convene an emergency quarantine countermeasures meeting shortly after, as the number of corona19 confirmed cases approached the record high of 1,000 people today (12th).

According to the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Chung held an emergency quarantine countermeasure meeting with the Minister of Health and Welfare Park Neung-hoo and the head of the metropolitan area at 2 pm this afternoon at the Seoul Government Complex to examine the current situation of the third pandemic and discuss countermeasures in the metropolitan area.

Although the government has upgraded the social distancing stage in the metropolitan area to stage 2.5, the rapid increase in confirmed cases is intensifying, so it is noteworthy whether a plan to upgrade to stage 3 will be considered.

Prime Minister Chung originally planned to hold a communication event with influencers in Seongsu-dong in the afternoon, but today, when the number of confirmed cases reached an all-time high of 950, he canceled it and called a meeting.
