The Italian Marta Bassino won the first giant of Courchevel on Saturday by relegating the Slovakian Petra Vlhova, first at the end of the first round, to 59 hundredths in particularly difficult weather conditions.

Under the snowflakes and in a persistent fog, Bassino, already winner of the giant of Solden, the first race of the season, continued in Courchevel.

Sweden's Sara Hector is second at 46 hundredths.

Star Mikaela Shiffrin, third after the first set, was fourth due to a foul midway through the second.

The double world champion Tessa Worley, is classified 12th at 4 seconds 72.
