Kiel (dpa / lno) - Schleswig-Holstein's SPD parliamentary group leader Ralf Stegner underlined the need for a short-term lockdown on Friday.

"We will need a lockdown at short notice to break the wave of infections," Stegner tweeted on Friday morning - a few hours before the start of the state parliament session, at which Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) wanted to concretise his ideas for a lockdown before Christmas.

Günther wants to explain the positions the state government intends to take in the next Prime Minister's Conference to deal with the Corona crisis.

In addition to the lockdown, Stegner called for an incidence-based corona traffic light in order to take regional measures on a nationwide scale that the infection process requires.

Without such a traffic light there is no perspective until the vaccinations can have a broad impact, which is only to be expected in early summer.

In addition, according to Stegner, “transparency, traceability and effectiveness of the measures remain decisive for acceptance among the population”.

In Schleswig-Holstein the seven-day incidence is significantly lower than in most other federal states.

But the number of infections is high.

According to the state government on Thursday, 529 new corona cases were reported within one day.

That was significantly more than the day before (297).

The country has been a corona risk area since Sunday because the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants had risen to over 50 in the past seven days.

According to current figures, this value rose further - to 67.8.
