Halle (dpa / sa) - In the case of the six-year-old rescued from a river, the investigators in Halle continue to check traces.

There were several indications, said a spokesman for the Halle prosecutor on Friday.

The investigators would investigate these.

For tactical reasons of investigation, it could not be said whether there was a hot lead among them.

Previously, two phantom images of a suspect had been published.

The stranger is said to have carried the six-year-old mostly in his arms through the city center on Sunday morning.

Later the girl was saved from drowning by two joggers from the hall.

What exactly happened that morning remained unclear at first.

The girl lives with her parents in Halle's city center.

On Sunday, the child was last seen in the family apartment at around 7:30 a.m. and then reported missing.

At around 8:30 a.m., the two joggers found the child in the icy hall after they heard cries for help.

According to the public prosecutor's office, there was sufficient suspicion against the stranger, who is said to be between the ages of 20 and 40.

The investigators did not comment on whether it was possibly a kidnapping or another criminal act.

A nine-member investigation team called "Elsa" is now supposed to clear up the case.
