Munich (dpa / lby) - New trains, new line names and new stations - the annual timetable change brings a whole range of changes for rail customers in Bavaria this year.

As the Bavarian Railway Company reported on Friday, there will be some improvements for train drivers from Sunday (December 13th) in the Free State of regional and S-Bahn traffic.

However, passengers also have to be careful that they can find their familiar routes again in the future.

Because the system of naming the lines will be changed according to the motto “shorter, clearer, more modern”.

For example, the regional express RE 59401 from Munich via Ingolstadt to Nuremberg becomes the RE1.

New double-decker cars will also be used on this route, which will then offer 676 instead of the previous 413 seats.

The Nuremberg S-Bahn is also getting new trains and the new S5 line (Nuremberg-Allersberg).

New wagons will also be in use in the Allgäu in the future.

The biggest innovation in Swabia, however, is the newly built Lindau long-distance train station in the Reutin district on the Zurich-Munich route, which complements the previous train station on the Lindau island of Lake Constance.

There is also a new train station in Coburg-Beiersdorf.

In the village of Brunnen on the Augsburg-Ingolstadt route, a new stop went into operation in October.
