2019 - An EU summit in Brussels approves the EU Commission's “Green Deal” on climate protection.

The coal country Poland does not agree to the timetable until 2050.

Like the Czech Republic and Hungary, it requires commitments for financial aid.

2018 - In the dispute over the Brexit treaty, British Prime Minister Theresa May survived a vote of no confidence from her conservative group.

With that, May remains party and government leader.

2015 - A historic breakthrough is achieved at the Paris UN climate conference.

After two weeks of negotiations, almost all countries in the world agree on a climate protection treaty.

The main goal is to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius.

2003 - The Bundestag decides against the votes of the Union to have a memorial erected in Berlin for the homosexuals persecuted and murdered during the Nazi era.

2000 - The US Supreme Court rejects the hand-counting of controversial votes in Florida in the November 7th legal battle over the presidential election.
