In the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, six security officials were injured while trying to detain a criminal who committed suicide.

This was announced by the information center of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee.

“Today, at about 12 noon in the village of Uchkeken of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, an attempt was prevented by an unidentified person to break through to the territory where the law enforcement agencies were conducting operational-search measures.

While trying to detain the offender, he exploded himself, ”the message says.

It is noted that as a result of the explosion, six law enforcement officers were slightly injured, they are provided with the necessary medical assistance.

The NAC stressed that there were no casualties among civilians.

"The necessary operational-search measures and investigative actions are being carried out, the identity of the offender is being established," the National Anti-Terrorist Committee noted.

According to the head of the region, Rashid Temrezov, the authorities, security and law enforcement agencies of the KCR are taking all the necessary actions.

He stressed that the situation is under his personal control, the situation in the village of Uchkek is calm.

“He gave an order to provide material assistance to the injured employees and their families,” Temrezov said.

He added that the acting Minister of Health of the KChR, as well as an additional medical team of specialists, are in place of the emergency.
