If Lyon is the City of Lights with its impromptu fireworks display on Tuesday evening, Paris remains the City of Lights.

After the illuminations of the Champs-Elysées, the Faubourg Saint-Honoré or the Place de la Concorde, it is the turn of the Place de la Bastille and the forecourt of the Hôtel de Ville to dress up in a thousand lights.

This Friday, the magic takes hold of the July Column - "with a scintillating forest and a luminous projection", says the city of Paris.

The forecourt of the Town Hall will also come alive with a "scintillating forest", illuminations and a "projection on the facade of the monument".

“Free rides for children and chalets for snacks and sale of artisan products from the Made in Paris label will also be offered,” the city announced.

These illuminations are scheduled until January 3.
