This is stated on the website of the embassy.

“Today, in the context of a pandemic, the situation on the labor market has become more than tense, the number of unemployed in the district has increased almost five times.

Let me remind you that most of our subjects are among the ten regions of Russia with the highest number of citizens recognized as unemployed.

This trend continues, and, unfortunately, it has not been possible to reverse it, ”he said.

As Chaika emphasized, according to Rosstat, the level of registered unemployment at the end of October 2020 in the North Caucasus Federal District amounted to almost 12% of the total labor force, which is more than twice the same calculated indicator in the Russian Federation (4.6%).

At the end of March 2020, this figure was 2.7% in the district.

In terms of the regions of the district, the largest share of registered unemployed is observed in the Republic of Ingushetia (almost 24%) and in the Chechen Republic (21%).

“The lowest unemployment rate in the district is observed in the Stavropol Territory - 6.1%,” Chaika added.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the rise in unemployment a key challenge not only for Russia, but for the whole world.
