The gendarmes of Seine-Maritime brought assistance to a 73-year-old man who allegedly tried to end his life, this Tuesday in Maulévrier-Sainte-Gertrude.

At the end of the afternoon, this septuagenarian would have left his home, explaining to his family that he intended to kill himself.

His relatives would then have contacted the soldiers, who, at first, were able to geolocate the unfortunate in the town of Rives-en-Seine.

Only there, the man could not be found, tells

An SMS to locate it

To find him, the gendarmes then sent him a “GendLoc” SMS.

The septuagenarian would have clicked the hypertext link contained in the text message.

A gesture allowing the soldiers to receive the coordinates of his position.

The man was therefore found at the edge of a departmental road.

He was in his car in which he had placed a plastic pipe connected to the exhaust.

He had also ingested medication.

Supported, he was transferred to the hospital.
