Amsterdam (dpa) - The soccer players of FC Bayern have made a successful start in the Champions League.
The Munich team won the first leg in the round of 32 on Thursday evening 3-1 (0-0) at Ajax Amsterdam.
After eleven wins in the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup in a row, coach Jens Scheuer's team was able to take a big step towards the round of 16.
Kay-Lee de Sanders with an own goal in the 57th minute, Sydney Lohmann (69th) and just before the final whistle Simone Laudehr (86th) were successful for the game-defining Munich women.
Jonna van de Felde (79th) had surprised with the interim goal for mostly harmless Dutch women.
The second leg will take place on Wednesday (6 p.m.) at the FC Bayern campus.
