Munich (dpa / lby) - The Association of Nurses in Bavaria (VdPB) demands that corona series tests in old people's and nursing homes be carried out by external helpers.

"The series tests, which are supplemented by tests on visitors and relatives, must not be passed on to the nursing staff in the facilities," emphasized VdPB President Georg Sigl-Lehner on Wednesday in Munich.

In the Free State, all employees in old people's and nursing homes would have to be tested for the virus at least twice a week.

A negative corona test is also mandatory for visitors to the facilities.

At the suggestion of the VdPB, helpers for the series tests should be requested from the Bavarian Care Pool.

In addition, volunteers are available through aid organizations such as the Bavarian Red Cross, the Johannitern, the Maltese or the Technical Relief Organization.

The association is therefore already holding talks with the Ministry of Health.
