Offenbach (dpa / lnw) - Cool temperatures bring frost and smoothness to North Rhine-Westphalia.
Until Wednesday morning and in the night of Thursday there can be light frost in low areas, as the German Weather Service in Offenbach announced on Wednesday.
In higher mountain areas, even permafrost can be expected at temperatures down to minus one degree.
On Wednesday it is mostly overcast during the day in East Westphalia, sometimes foggy and cloudy, west of the Rhine it also loosens at times with highs between one and four degrees.
On Thursday night it can be locally slippery and snow a little at lows between zero and minus four degrees.
On Thursday light rain or sleet is possible locally in the Weserbergland.
Otherwise it remains free of precipitation.
The maximum values are between two and six degrees, at high altitudes around zero degrees.
Even on Friday night, smoothness is possible with lows between minus one and minus four degrees.
On Friday, people in North Rhine-Westphalia have to be prepared for rain or sleet in the lowlands and snow in the mountains.
The temperature rises to three to five degrees, in the mountains it is between zero to two degrees.
