A good European student during the first wave in spring, Germany is experiencing great difficulties this winter in reducing the number of Covid-19 infections, with more than 20,000 new cases recorded every day.

On Wednesday, in front of the deputies, Chancellor Angela Merkel urged the Germans to reduce their contacts.

The situation with Covid-19 is not improving in Germany.

20,000 new cases are identified per day and Tuesday the country recorded 590 deaths, a record.

Sign of the gravity of the situation, Angela Merkel went out of its hinges Wednesday in front of the deputies, an extremely rare fact.

The Germans had never seen their chancellor in this state before.

590 deaths recorded on Tuesday, a record

At the start of her speech to parliament, the Chancellor was initially calm, composed and pragmatic, as usual.

Then she coldly shouted the latest figures and, when talking about the 590 deaths recorded on Tuesday, Angela Merkel's emotion rose.

"The numbers are there, they are too high! They are facts, the science is formal! We must reduce social contacts. Stop seeing each other!", She implored.

Visibly overwhelmed, the German Chancellor joined her hands like a prayer.

Her voice broke several times, especially when she spoke of the risks surrounding the holiday season.

"Before Christmas, before meeting grandpa and grandma, you have to reduce your contacts as much as possible for a week. We should perhaps still push so that the holidays do not start as planned on December 19th, but on the 16th. what will be said of us if, in view of this historic epidemic, we have not been able to find a solution for these three days? Especially if after Christmas there is never again with the grandparents ", she continued.
