He also revealed that the total cases of recovery during the same period amounted to 4,628 cases, while the deaths reached 20 cases, leaving the death rate at 0.3%, which is one of the lowest rates in the world compared to the European Union 2.3%, and the Middle East and North Africa region 2.3%, And OECD countries 2.4%.

During the briefing, Al-Hammadi answered some inquiries and questions on topics of interest to the public, as the first question dealt with the effect of the Corona virus on women during pregnancy, and are women during this period more vulnerable to infection?

Al-Hammadi indicated that pregnant women, based on the available data, and the cases that are recorded up to the present time, are not considered more susceptible to "Covid-19" disease, and therefore the disease does not pose a threat to pregnant women or newborns.

Regarding wearing the muzzle and the risks it may cause, Al-Hammadi explained that, contrary to the popular belief among many, wearing a muzzle for a long time does not cause a decrease in the percentage of oxygen inside the body, nor does it cause a toxic accumulation of carbon dioxide, as long as it is placed tightly and correctly, allowing breathing natural.

Al-Hammadi added that a study was conducted on patients suffering from respiratory problems as they were monitored while wearing the muzzle, and blood tests showed no difference in levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide, during the long periods of rest or short walking.

He explained that wearing a muzzle protects those suffering from chronic lung diseases from infection with viruses, which may destroy their respiratory system, which is affected mainly by chronic disease, pointing out that people with shortness of breath must refrain from wearing a muzzle, to avoid suffocation.

Al-Hammadi noted that wearing a muzzle during exercise, especially high-intensity, may affect a person’s ability to breathe normally, and may also lead to difficulty breathing with the accumulation of carbon dioxide inside the muzzle. Exercise also results in increased rates of sweating, which makes The muzzle is wet, which means germs can grow.

He explained that wearing a muzzle during high-intensity sports would cause physiological pressure on the body, especially for those suffering from chronic diseases of the heart and lungs, advising them to exercise in places with good ventilation, and to adhere to physical distancing.
