A total of 350,000 people work in Sweden at the same time as they take out a pension.

Figures produced by the occupational pension company Alecta with the help of Statistics Sweden show that every third 68-year-old, every fifth 73-year-old and every tenth 79-year-old still have income from work.

- In this survey, we can see that more and more people combine work and pension, what we call job boners, says Staffan Ström, pension economist at Alecta.

- It is also interesting that it is not primarily financial reasons that are behind it, but the desire to work.

Work has a central place in life for you to feel good and then many more choose to continue working.

Not everyone can handle it

Ingemar Hamskär, an expert in pensioners' finances at the National Association of Pensioners (PRO), however, wants to problematize the image that all older people want to work longer.

- In the future, I see many equal types of pensioners.

Some who can not work, society must provide for them.

At the same time, we have an ever larger group that has the strength and wants to work longer - you have to give them the conditions.

Because it benefits employers, companies and society, says Ingemar Hamskär.
