Ulm (dpa) - The basketball players from ratiopharm Ulm suffered a setback in the Eurocup.

The Baden-Württemberg team, who were still unbeaten in the Bundesliga, lost 73:77 (35:37) at home to the Montenegrin club Buducnost Podgorica in the second highest European competition on Tuesday evening.

The best thrower of the match was Podgorica's Melvin Ejim with 20 points.

After nine games, the Ulm team have three wins and are in fifth place in the competitive group B. However, they have to be among the top four teams in the group of six to qualify for the top 16 round.

After a strong first quarter (24:12), the home side gave up the game in front of empty stands.

In the second section, they only scored eleven points.

Although coach Jaka Lakovic's team stayed within striking distance throughout the season, the Montenegrin representative lived up to his role as favorites.

With the win, Podgorica moves into the next round.
