According to the forecast, the region will land on a small positive result.

Much due to a granted state subsidy of approximately SEK 130 million that was received due to the corona pandemic.

At the same time, the pandemic has meant increased costs for the region.

The property debt has grown with several neglected buildings that need to be renovated around the county.

- It is clear that we must have good premises to conduct good healthcare.

Then it is important that we work with the adjustment plan we have.

Then we will be able to make more investments as well, says regional councilor Peter Olofsson (S).

Opposition Council: "Many small streams"

Opposition councilor Nicklas Sandström (M) shares Olofsson's view of the property debt and that it needs to be addressed.

But he thinks that the economy had major problems even before the pandemic and that one needs to look beyond it.

- We have a huge care debt but also a far too large suit in terms of the income we have.

There is therefore a need for a major adjustment to manage a balanced economy, he says.

One of the concrete proposals from the opposition is to halve a percentage goal for culture, which would generate just under ten million kronor.

- Basically, many streams are small and it is a cultural change that is needed in this change.

Because we are making such big changes, one percent of it still means a lot of money.
