Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The Frankfurt security department head Markus Frank (CDU) wants to prevent a "lateral thinking" demonstration planned for Saturday (December 12) as much as possible.

To protect the population he will do everything possible to prevent such a crude event, said Frank (CDU) on Monday.

Frank reported that he had taken note of the report of the assembly authority on a so-called second cooperation meeting with the applicant with concern.

"The large number of registered meeting places as well as the planned demonstration trains make it seem unrealistic to hold the planned meeting with registered 40,000 participants in Frankfurt am Main on a Saturday."

Since the applicant wants to stick to his plans, he lacks any imagination as to how the meeting could take place in accordance with corona, said Frank, according to the message in the city committee for law, administration and security.

A decision by the assembly authority could therefore be made on Tuesday.

According to the police, around 600 “lateral thinkers” had already taken part in a demonstration in Frankfurt in mid-November.

There was also a counter event with around 300 people.

The police had used water cannons.
