Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Farmers from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein raised 10,000 euros for the children's cancer ward at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf in a donation campaign.

On St. Nicholas Day, the farmers handed over their donation to the UKE.

With a tractor move they drove from the Duchy of Lauenburg to the university hospital in the afternoon.

"When we found out that the usual fundraising campaigns for the children's cancer ward could not take place this year due to corona, we immediately said: We will do it!"

In the morning, the height rescuers from the Hamburg fire brigade had given the little patients of the children's university clinic a little joy. Disguised as Santa Claus and superheroes, they roped down from the roof of the clinic building on Sunday to distract the children from everyday hospital life.
