Altenberge (dpa / lnw) - In a head-on collision between two cars near Altenberge (Steinfurt district) four people were seriously injured.
A 22-year-old had come into oncoming traffic on Sunday afternoon on the L 579 with his car for an unexplained cause, the police said.
There he collided with the car of a 32-year-old woman who was traveling with a horse trailer and a horse.
The fire brigade freed the 22-year-old, his 24-year-old co-driver and the 32-year-old from the vehicles.
This was not necessary for the woman's 29-year-old passenger, but she too was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The horse was slightly injured.
