Tottenham regained the lead in the Premier League by beating Arsenal (2-0) on Sunday for the 11th day, while Leicester revived by going to win (2-1) at the last Sheffield United, thanks to the inevitable Jamie Vardy.

Tottenham does minimum service

Spurs didn't have much to do to dominate weak Gunners in the North London derby.

With 24 points, Tottenham regains 2 points ahead of Chelsea and 3 over Leicester and Liverpool, even if the Reds have to play in the evening.

Once again, the Harry Kane-Son Heung-min duo made the difference in a match "mourinhesque" as possible, with two goals on the counterattack and a second period spent quietly managing the advantage.

The Englishman served the Korean who scored with a magnificent shot coiled from 22 meters for the opener (1-0, 13th), and the second returned the favor to the first, who placed an overpowered strike under the bar at a closed angle for the 2-0 (45 + 1).

These are already the 10th and 11th goals on which the two friends have combined since the start of the season and their 30th and 31st since playing together.

Only Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard for Chelsea did better (36 goals).

Arsenal, for their part, again showed incredible defensive weaknesses, like the second goal where after a recovery from Serge Aurier and a stint from Giovanni Lo Celso, Tottenham found themselves 4 against 2 against.

The trajectory of Mikel Arteta's team, outside the Europa League, where it achieved a 5/5 in pool, has been very worrying for a few weeks and 15th place with 13 points unfortunately reflects the level of play displayed.

Vardy revives Leicester

With a goal 20 seconds from the end of regulation time, Jamie Vardy, top scorer in the championship last season (23 goals) allowed Leicester to hang on to the top of the standings (3rd with 21 points).

The Foxes, however, seemed well on their way to share the points and continue their streak of four consecutive games without a win, in all competitions, including a loss at home to another poorly classified, Fulham (1-2), Monday.

But on a ball lost in the middle of the field by Sheffield, James Maddison immediately found Vardy, gone on the edge of the offside to go and deceive Aaron Ramsdale with a flat foot, at the start of added time (2- 1, 90th).

Their victory is not stolen, however, since they had touched the post twice, by Jamie Vardy (10th) and by James Maddison just before the break.

They also opened the scoring by Ayoze Perez, recovering from a ball that was trailing in the area (1-0, 24th).

But two minutes later, on a corner, a header from Oliver McBurnie had allowed Sheffield to equalize and believe in their second point of the season.

The Blades unfortunately remain last for them with a point taken in eleven games.
