Offenbach (dpa / lrs) - The week in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland starts gloomy and cloudy.

As the German Weather Service (DWD) announced, thick clouds were moving over the two countries on Monday.

Rain falls again and again and snow falls in the mountains.

Drivers have to expect slippery roads.

At noon the precipitation decreases and temperatures between 1 and 6 degrees prevail.

In the night of Tuesday it remains very cloudy but mostly free of rain on the Moselle and Rhine.

Only in some regions does some snow or drizzle fall.

In some places black ice is possible at very low temperatures between 0 and -3 degrees.

A preliminary end to the cloudy December weather is not in sight in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland on Tuesday either.

The day is mostly very cloudy, partly foggy and cloudy.

But it remains free of precipitation.

The maximum temperatures are between 1 and 4 degrees.

According to the DWD, Wednesday night will be increasingly cloudy, but mostly free of precipitation.

The lowest temperature is between 0 degrees and -4 degrees.

Drivers must expect slippery conditions from frost and freezing moisture.
