Two inmates, brothers, have escaped this Saturday from the Valdemoro prison in Madrid after forcing the lock of a warehouse and sawing the bars of the window, which allowed them to jump outside.
As prison sources have informed EFE, there were three inmates who tried to escape, and those who managed to jump to the outer perimeter that the Civil Guard monitors.
At that time the fugitives were separated, one on the one hand and the other two - the brothers, convicted of robbery and non-serious robberies - on the other.
The same sources have indicated that the officials realized that something was happening, gave the alert and discovered one of them, whom they managed to intercept.
Meanwhile, the two brothers managed to jump over the wall, apparently with a rope, and flee.
The General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions has opened an investigation and is reviewing the prison chambers to clarify the circumstances of the escape, the second that occurs in the prisons under the jurisdiction of the central administration in the last three years.
